‘Te Raukura’ was opened on Waitangi Day 6 February 2011 and is of special significance to descendants from Te Ātiawa/Taranaki iwi katoa re-establishing a physical Māori presence not seen on the waterfront since 1880’s.

Bookings from 20 – 230 seated, up to  500 standing.  Indoor, outdoor flow on the ground floor and stunning  views on the first floor.

Function Rooms

Te Raukura is of special significance to decendants from Te Ātiawa/Taranaki iwi. The rooms Mākaro, Matiu and Mokopuna are named after Kupe the legendary Polynesian explorer and overlook our harbour islands.  Te Puni acknowledges the great Te Ātiawa chief Te  Honiana Te Puni.

Mākaro Room

Our largest and most versatile venue, offering expansive harbour views across Wellington waterfront.

Matiu Room

Matiu Room is a spacious and adaptable waterfront venue ideal for conferences, presentations, and large-scale gatherings

Mokopuna Room

Mokopuna Room is a flexible waterfront space ideal for meetings, workshops, and smaller-scale events

Te Puni Room

Te Puni Room is our most frequently used space, located directly above the waka house at Wharewaka.
